VIT University is inviting applications for admission into MBA Programme for the academic year 2014

Eligibility: The applicant for admission should be a Resident Indian National and should have graduated from colleges located in India

NRI and foreign nationals may contact the Director Admissions for details of admission

A minimum of 60% is required in the qualifying full-time Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University or Institution

Candidates appearing for the final examination to be held in April / May and whose results will be available on or before 15th August are also eligible for admission

The bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must include a minimum of three years of regular education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent
Consistent Academic Record in X and XII standard is required

CAT/XAT/MAT/GMAT/CMAT score is essential

Executive work experience is an advantage but not essential

The candidate should studied in Regular/Full Time and Formal Education

Scholarship: Students with valid CAT/XAT/GMAT score of 95 percentile and above are eligible for full fee waiver

Students with valid CAT/XAT/GMAT score of 90 percentile and above are eligible for 50% tuition fee waiver

Students with valid MAT score above 790 (791 to 800) are eligible for full fee waiver

Students with valid MAT score in the range of 760 to 790 are eligible for 50% tuition fee waiver

Fee Structure (MBA/MBA (IB))

Tution Fee Rs.1,82,000/-
Special Fees Rs.65,000/-
Total Fees Rs.2,47,000/-

Note: One time payment of Admission Fee of Rs.5000/- and caution deposit (refundable) of Rs.3000/- will be extra

Foreign Trip: Overseas Experiential Learning (OELP) is compulsory for MBA (IB) students for which an advance of Rs 50,000/- should to be paid at the time of admission

Payment Mode: All payments are to be made only in the form of a crossed demand draft drawn in favour of VIT University, payable at Vellore, with a cover letter indicating the following information; name of the candidate; programme and campus to which admitted (enclose photocopy of provisional admit card); total amount to be paid; name of the bank, Branch, demand draft number and date

Admission Procedure:

Candidates can apply online at www.bschool.vit.ac.in

The short-listed candidates will undergo Written Test/Group Discussion

The Written Test/GD will be held at Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Madurai, Patna, Ranchi and Vellore

The selection for admission to both Chennai & Vellore Campuses will be made based on the merit of the candidate

The exact date, time and venue of the Written Test/GD will be intimated by post/mail

The selected candidate shall pay an advance fee of Rs.10,000/- on the day of the Written Test/GD (Non refundable)

Get ready with a computerized Demand draft of Rs.900/- drawn from any Nationalised Bank in favour of the VIT University, payable at “Vellore”

Write your Application Number, name, address and phone number on the back side of the demand draft
While filling the application form choose the mode of payment mode as demand draft and submit the Application form

After the above process, you can able to view the download link to download your application form (pdf format) with the details filled for taking the print-out

Fill the details of Demand Draft (like DD number, DD Date, Bank Name etc.) on the printout of filled-out application form in the relevant space provided

Send the printout of filled out application form after affixing the photo and signature along with the demand draft (computerized demand draft) addressed to the Director-PG Admissions, VIT University, Vellore-632014, Tamil Nadu

Steps to be followed, if payment through (Net Banking/credit card/debit card)

Fill the application form and choose the mode of payment as Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card

After submitting the details with the above payment mode, you will get an option to choose the facility of either Net-banking or Credit Card or Debit Card

Based on the above information, you will get list of bank names to choose for the payment

After choosing your preferred bank, you will be redirected to bank website for the payment
If the online transaction has been successfully completed a application number will be generated and will be viewed to you

You can also able to view the download link below the application number to download your application form (PDF Format) with the details filled for taking the print-out

Vellore Institute of Technology overtakes most IITs in research

Vellore: The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is way ahead of most premier higher education institutions in India in the publication of research papers, a vital factor taken into account the world over for grading a university.

“We have overtaken all the IITs except IIT-Delhi and IIT-Kharagpur. Very soon, VIT will be at the very top. We are aiming to grow as big as the MIT (top-ranked Massachusetts Institute of Technology)”, said VIT Chancellor Dr G Viswanathan.

Acknowledging the warm felicitations on his 75th birthday at the VIT on Sunday, where his biographies in English and Tamil were released, GV (as he is fondly known) recounted the tough times in building up VIT as the ‘second chapter’ in his life after retiring from politics.

He said along with VIT that was now globally recognised and had about 25,000 students from 50 countries, including China, and almost all the states in India, he had endeavoured to improve the academic opportunities for the underprivileged in the state through scholarships and even free education at the VIT.

Lamenting that India’s GER (gross enrolment ratio), an indicator of students enrolling for higher education, was a mere 19 per cent as compared with USA (89%), Russia (76%) and Korea (over 90%), GV said VIT had started ‘Universal Higher Educ­ation Trust’ to help all the students passing out of plus-two to go for higher education. “I hope this project will create positive ripples in other parts of India as well”.

GV said India had great opportunities of emerging as a major producer in core areas, such as agriculture, technology and education. “And in India, Tamil Nadu has huge potential. We must work hard to get there”.

Former MP Era Sezhiyan, Congress MP M Krishnas­wamy, Satyab­hama Univ­ersity Chan­cellor Jeppiaar, CPI state secretary D Pan­dian and Rafeeq Ahmed, president, Federation of Indian Export Organis­ations (FIEO), were among those present on the occasion to felicitate GV on his illustrious public life.
